Donate!
Our club is run by volunteers and we rely on donations.
Each contribution will help our club and the programs that support us.

Please click the button below and give any amount you can spare.

Donations are NOT tax deductible at this time.

We now have items for sale!
Please click HERE to view our store.
This is a great way to support the many efforts of our club to better the breed.

CafePress.com is a "print on demand" company that offers an inexpensive way for our club to make money.
Though we only make $3.00 on each sale - every bit helps!

In order to keep our "eShop" free, we are only allowed 12 products to be available at any time. We will rotate designs and products based on your feedback. Please let us know if there is something you would like to see offered here.

A special thanks goes to our club member
Sue Herber for providing some of the artwork used on many of the items in our shop.

Our History
  • 1881- American Kennel Club formed
  • 1890- Boston Terrier Club of America formed
  • 1894- Boston Terrier recognized by the AKC as the first American Breed of dog.
Boston Terrier Club of America becomes a member club of the AKC.
  • 1947- Minnesota Boston Terrier Club formed
  • 1950- Minnesota Boston Terrier Club first specialty show
  • 1980's- MBTC goes broke and cannot have its Specialty Show. AKC gives them a 1 year deadline to hold another Specialty Show or the club will be disbanded. MBTC raises money by garage sales and selling candy bars and holds Specialty show before deadline.
  • 1994- Club decides to host National Specialty Show with only $1,000 in the treasury. Spends next three years selling candy and t-shirts to raise enough money to pay for the National Specialty Show. Ends up paying for show and increasing money in the treasury to $3,000
  • 2005- Membership has grown from 43 members in 2000 to 68 members in 2005.

    How we operate
  • BTCA is a member club of the AKC
  • MBTC is a member club of the BTCA and through them the AKC
  • By-laws are AKC approved
  • Must have a least one Specialty Show a year to continue to exist within the AKC and BTCA
  • MBTC is governed by a board of directors that consists of club officers and a member of the club
  • All club business is conducted using Roberts Rules of Order
  • MBTC follows its own AKC approved by-laws in how it conducts its business
  • Committee chairpersons are appointed, and governed,  by the board
  • The President is a member of all committees
